Discuss Your DUI Criminal Appeal with an Experienced Lawyer
If you have been convicted of a DUI in the state of Florida, it may be possible for you to appeal the decision and get the conviction overturned. The first step in the DUI appeals process is to speak with an experienced appellate attorney who understands what the steps are in the process and who will explore every facet of your trial to find errors in made by the court.
To explore your constitutional rights and learn more about your options, talk with me, A. Randall Haas, at my law firm in Fort Lauderdale. Since 1986, my practice has served individuals in South Florida who have been convicted of DUIs and other crimes and who wish to exercise their rights in a court of appeal. If errors were made in the lower court and these errors contributed to your conviction, the Law Office of A. Randall Haas will vigorously pursue your appellate rights.
Guidelines for Florida State and Federal DUI Appeals
There are many deadlines and guidelines that need to be met and/or followed in order to successfully appeal a conviction for drunk driving or other criminal offenses. The notice of appeal must be filed by a preset deadline for both federal appeals and state appeals. The appellate court will not consider your appeal if the notice is not filed by these deadlines.
Before the original sentence is handed down by the court, or even before the verdict has been received, it may be prudent to speak with an experienced appellate attorney if you feel that an error has been made in the trial court. The trial court should be given the opportunity to correct the error prior to the final judgment and I can assist you and your trial counsel in ensuring the error will be considered for appeal.
